A 2D classic-lego-pirate-themed platformer, heavily inspired by the 2D LEGO® platformers of the mid-2010s and the 1989-1997 LEGO® Pirates theme.

I absolutely loooved the browser-based lego games of the 2010s, so I decided to create one of my own. I created this with no prior experience in godot (and it shows) but I hope you have fun playing this prototype of a game!

Controls:

  • WAD or ← ↑ →  for movement.
  • Jump on enemy's head to kill.

hello Hack Club person

I really quite liked this. It’s simple but very charming; especially for a first game, the graphics are quite polished, if a little silly… but I’m pretty sure that’s the point. It’s certainly a unique look and feel, especially since it calls back to such a niche topic.

I can think of some unique things you could do with LEGO bricks, especially in the context of a platformer. I have a few ideas. That being said, I haven’t ever played the browser-based LEGO games of the 2010s that inspired this one, so perhaps my unique ideas aren’t as novel as I thought…

The movement is a little strange sometimes. Also, I’m not sure if I’m just being silly but I can’t get anything outside of that first level to unlock

hey!

Thanks for leaving quite the lengthy comment! I'm glad you liked my silly little creation!!

I initially planned to have multiple levels that incorporated a bit of story but eventually settled on just one level as a demo because this project became so time consuming and my code was a MESS. Who knows though, I might revisit this game in the future.

Would absolutely love to hear what ideas you have in mind.. :0
